A brief guide to help you get the most out of this website

Color key

A more detailed version of the key to the colors in the playlist tables. Some colors are only relevant to certain shows.

	Songs played as a cold open — i.e. before the first talk segment. These songs may provide a hint about this week’s theme or otherwise serve as an introduction to the theme.
	Songs that were requested by interns or listeners. The requester’s initials are included in the “Comments” column.
	Songs that weren’t in the planned playlist but which I played as emergency music (for example, due to tech issues).
	Songs that were only played as a short snippet (typically about a minute long).
	Songs that were on the final radio playlist but got cut for time.
	Songs played as part of The Last Laugh — an occasional segment where I play one or two joke songs at the end of the show. They still have to fit the theme though.
	Songs that played because of seasonal considerations or as a response to current events, even though they don’t fit the week’s theme.

More about WTBU playlist links (2022–2023)

All WTBU shows are archived for 2 weeks only at the WTBU Recent Archives website. Please contact me (via Metaverse’s Instagram) if you want to listen to an older show. If you want all of the music and none of the talk, you can listen to each show’s playlist on Apple Music. (Sorry, I’m not on Spotify.) Playlists are available in up to three versions:

The full version, featuring every decent song that fit the week’s theme, in their original versions. In general, I start by making this playlist, then remove songs until I have something that fits into 2 hours.
The radio edit, which is the actual playlist I played on the radio. These will generally be 90–100 minutes long and feature clean edits of the songs. If a song was played from a local file, it may be missing from the Apple Music playlist. You can see this version of the playlist in table form right here on this website — simply scroll down or use the Episode List to find the episode you want.
The Spinitron page, which is where songs are logged for royalty purposes. You can listen to 30-second samples of the songs here — even for songs that aren’t on Apple Music. This follows the same tracklisting as the radio edit playlist. There may be extra songs at the beginning and end of the playlist; these are from WTBU rotation and are not part of the show.
