Yooooooouuuuu!!! (Dec. 1, 2022)

Theme: Songs with titles starting with “You”.

Song Title Artist Album Comments
“You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” Bachman-Turner Overdrive Not Fragile
“You Might Think” The Cars Heartbeat City
“You Better, You Bet” The Who Face Dances
“You Shook Me All Night Long” AC/DC Back in Black
“From Me to You” The Beatles Past Masters The first four songs were played on Spotify on the studio Macs because when I tried to play the header on my Mac via aux, it sounded weird. I only heard sound out of the left headphone/speaker. Up to this point, my theory was that it was dropping the right channel. This song is a good stereo test because one channel (I forget which one) is vocals only, and the other is instrumental only. This is because 1) ’60s songs had weird stereo in general, and 2) this song in particular was never meant to be heard in stereo, so the “stereo” version we hear today are the separated stems from the twin-track master recording. This song sounded fine, which I took to mean that actually, the mixer was dropping the center channel.
“You Get What You Give” New Radicals Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too
“You May Be Right” Billy Joel Glass Houses
“You Go Down Smooth” Lake Street Dive Bad Self Portraits
“You Really Got Me” The Kinks Kinks
“I Want to Hold Your Hand” The Beatles Past Masters During the last music segment, I reconnected the aux cord at the other end under the table. (Don’t try this at home, kids!) Then during the following talk segment, I played a Soulja Boy “Yooooooouuuuu!” from my personal soundboard, and it sounded normal. So then I played this song to see if everything was miraculously fixed. IT WAS! Finally, I could get back to my regularly planned show.
“You Can Call Me Al” Paul Simon Graceland
